Privacy Policy

This page explains what Abensio collects through abensio.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to visitors of abensio.com. Abensio is an educational resource and comparison hub for US HR and finance teams working on salary budgeting, headcount planning, and workforce compensation software. The address we operate from is 1201 North Market Street, Suite 111, Wilmington, DE 19801, USA.

It does not describe the practices of the software vendors we write about. If you follow a link to a vendor or to a third-party service, that provider's own policy applies to whatever you do there. Questions about this document can be sent through the contact page or by mail to the address above.

Where the budgeting work happens: the desk, the folders, the morning light. Nothing on this page changes how that work is done.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly. When you submit the contact form, that means your name, your email address, and the content of your message. If you write to us about a comparison of workforce compensation software, or suggest a correction to a salary budgeting guide, the details you include in that message are stored with it so we can reply and follow up.

We also collect a limited set of technical information automatically as you browse: browser type, device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and which pages you viewed. This is aggregate-level information about how the site is used. We do not collect payment information, because this site does not process payments and has no checkout.

How we use information

Contact information is used to answer your message. That includes questions about salary budgeting and workforce planning, requests for more detail on a tool we compared, and corrections or review suggestions you send us. We may keep the exchange on file while we work through it, and we may come back to you later if the same topic is covered again on the site.

Technical information is used to understand which pages are read, to spot pages that break or load slowly, and to keep the site running. We do not use the information you submit to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build profiles for advertising. We do not sell personal data.

What it is used for

Replying to you, and keeping a record of corrections and review requests you have sent.

What it is not used for

Selling, profiling, or automated decisions about you. No advertising profiles are built from your message.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of corrections or review requests. That record matters because a guide or comparison page may be updated months after the original message, and we want to know why a change was made.

Technical and analytics data is kept for a limited period, then deleted or aggregated so it no longer identifies a single visitor. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we remove it. If you ask us to delete your submission, we do so unless we are required to keep it for a legal reason, and we tell you if that is the case.

Data Kept for
Contact form submission As long as needed to reply, plus a record of corrections and review requests
Technical and analytics data A limited period, then deleted or aggregated
Data you ask us to delete Removed on request, unless a legal reason requires us to keep it

Your rights

You can ask us to do any of the following with the personal data we hold about you. To make a request, use the contact page and tell us which of these you want.

Access

Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and an explanation of how it is used.

Correction

Point out anything inaccurate in the details you sent and we will correct or complete it.

Deletion

Ask us to remove your contact submission, unless we are required to keep it for a legal reason.

Objection

Object to processing, or withdraw the consent you gave when you submitted the form.

We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country. If you write to us first, we will try to resolve the question directly.

Cookies and third parties

We use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy, which lists the categories we rely on and how to change your browser settings. Cookies are what let the site remember a preference or count a page view.

We may use third-party service providers for analytics or site functionality. Those providers process data on our behalf and under their own terms, and we keep that list short. We do not share your contact information with third parties for their marketing purposes. If a link takes you to a vendor's site, that vendor's own policy applies from that point on.

Security and changes

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. That means limiting who can see contact submissions, keeping the systems that hold them updated, and removing information once it is no longer needed. It does not mean that transmission over the internet is entirely secure — no method is — so treat any message you send as something you would be comfortable sharing with a colleague.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date, and the revised version replaces earlier versions as soon as it is published. If a change affects how we handle a submission you have already sent, we will tell you using the contact details you gave us.

Questions visitors ask about this policy

The answers below cover the points that come up most often. They are a summary, not a replacement for the sections above.

Do I have to submit the contact form to read the site?

No. The contact form is only there if you want a reply. Reading the salary budgeting guide, the software comparison, or any other page does not require you to send us anything.

What happens if I write in about a tool review?

We read the message, check the page it refers to, and reply using the email address you gave us. If the point leads to a correction, we keep a record of the request so the change can be traced later.

Does Abensio store anything when I only read a page?

Only the limited technical information described above — browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and which pages were viewed. That data is kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.

How do I ask for my data to be removed?

Write to us through the contact page, or by post or email using the details in the contact section above, and say that you want your submission deleted. We confirm once it is done, or explain if a legal reason requires us to keep it.

Will this policy change?

It may, if the site adds a feature or the way we handle data changes. Material changes appear on this page with an updated effective date, so the current version is always the one you are reading.
